Ans : Nursing means looking after the sick and injured. Florence Nightingale was the founder of modern nursing. Her aim in life was to serve the suffering humanity.

Ans : In 1854, during the war between England and Russia, Florence Nightingale managed the military hospital in Crimea. She played a great role in the Crimean war. The government gave her £45,000 as a reward with which she founded an institution for training nurses in London.
